O-Ring Overview
What's O-Ring?
An O-ring is a solid-rubber seal shaped like a doughnut or torus. When compressed between mating surfaces, an O-ring blocks the passage of liquids or gases. Our O-rings are available in a wide range of standard and non-standard sizes that are suitable for nearly all sealing applications.
Two dimensions describe the size of an O-ring: its inside diameter (ID) and its cross-sectional diameter (CS).
What are the Applications for O-Ring?
O-Ring is used as sealing elements or as energizing elements for hydraulic slipper seals and wipers and thus cover a large number of fields of application. There are no fields of industry where the O-Ring is not used. From an individual seal for repairs or maintenance to a quality assured application in aerospace, automotive or general engineering.
When choose an o-ring, size, tolerance, material, hardness should be take into consideration. Sometimes color is also a factor.
What are the Advantages of O-Ring?
Simple, one piece groove design reduces hardware and design costs.
Compact design allows smaller dardware.
Easy, foolproof installation reduces risk.
Applicable to a wide range of sealing problems, static, dynamic, single or double acting.
Wide compound choice for compatibility with most fluids.
